Practice Focus:

Michael has been engaged in an insurance defense practice for over 35 years, representing insureds and insurers in a wide variety of general insurance litigation, automobile liability, no-fault and uninsured/underinsured motorist matters, insurance coverage issues, premises liability and construction accident claims, municipal claims, liquor liability and products liability claims. He has extensive trial experience, practicing in the New York State and Federal Courts throughout Upstate New York.  He has represented litigants in appeals in the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.

While in law school, Michael served as an Associate Editor of the University of Illinois Law Forum (Law Review) and with the Student Research Bureau providing research assistance to Illinois practitioners in a wide variety of areas. After graduating from the University of Illinois, he relocated his family from Illinois to Rochester.  Before joining Osborn, Reed & Burke, LLP, Michael was a Partner in the insurance defense firms of Bayer & Smith, Smith & Reddy, and Burke, Albright, Harter & Reddy, LLP.

In his spare time, Michael is a volunteer firefighter and NYS Emergency Medical Technician for the West Webster Volunteer Fire Department.
